Workshops

I love to teach art! As the teacher, it is so satisfying to help others gain new skills and reach a point where they can be proud of their art. :)

Where I've taught Art:
  • Public school (Idaho)--I taught Middle School and High School art.
  • BYU-Idaho--As a Senior in my Art program, I co-taught the art class for Non-Art Major college students.
  • Leavitt Center (Arts and Community Center in Pocatello, ID)--I taught children and teen/adult classes.
  • Private and group art lessons in my own home.
  • Group Art Workshops in other people's homes.
  • Church youth groups--Volunteer work.

I will teach a spring session of children's art classes in my home in March and April--if you're interested in being part of those, feel free to request to join my "Art Classes with Amy Graham" Facebook Group for all the info on current and upcoming Kid's classes!

I also offer Watercolor Workshops and Canvas Paint Parties in South-East Idaho, where I come to YOU! I am scheduling these  for February, so call soon! :)

Most people find it hard to commit to months of weekly classes. (Cause we allll busy!) But, a workshop fits so much better into most people's schedules! In a couple 2 hours classes you can learn a lot in a short amount of time! Pretty genius, huh? ;)

Adult Watercolor Workshops:
This is how it works. If you want to host a watercolor Workshop, all you need is to gather up 4 or more adults who want to learn how to watercolor paint and I'll come to your home and teach a workshop! (I can also host a watercolor workshop for teens, tweens, or kids...email me for info on that) I provide all the supplies--you just provide the people and some treats (cause everything's better with treats!) and I take care of the rest. :)

You guys, these workshops are so fun. It's basically a girls' night, but consider this: instead of a girls' night at a restaurant where you spend $20 on a meal, fancy lemonade, and tip (a meal which is gone as soon as you eat it!) you get to have fun learning an awesome skill that will stay with you forever! (And, you still get to eat a yummy treat...Win/win!) This is the most low stress way to learn how to watercolor paint --you're with all your friends and I teach you so that whether you're a beginner, or someone with some experience, you can all learn and have a blast!

Oh and I can also teach drawing workshops using pencil, charcoal, and oil pastel if that's more your thing. :)

You can chose a 1 class, 2 class or 3 class workshop. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evenings are usually available for me. If you would rather not host in your home, just get a friend to host the party! ;)

Pricing (Each class is about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. All supplies are always included in your cost.)
-$15 per person for 1 class workshop
-$25 per person for a 2 class workshop.
-$40 per person for a 3 class workshop. (Cause some's good and more is better!!) :)

I also love to teach a 1-class "Mommy and Me" watercolor workshop for kids and their moms. It is such a treat for a child to spend special time creating with mom--the kids are so thrilled to have a "date" with mommy! This class is for girls and boys ages 7-11 with a parent. (Cause it totally could be a daddy too! Or a grandparent!) The cost for a 1 class workshop is $30 per mommy/child couple and $10 for each additional child. To hold one of these workshops, just find two other parent/child couples who want to come and contact me to schedule!

My goal with these workshops isn't just to teach you watercolor skills--it's also about the experience! Creating with friends is so therapeutic and fun. :)

Oh, and if you chose to host the 2 or 3 class workshops and someone can't make it to all of the classes, it's ok--they can just pay for what they are able to come to.

Adult Paint Party, Teens, or Kids Canvas Paint Party:

For an out-of-the-ordinary birthday party for kids, or a relaxing/fun girls night or couples night, host a Canvas Paint Party!! Because I come to you, I can charge way less than the paint places that have to pay for their facilities. Also awesome for a bridal shower, group date, sister's night out, etc! I can also do "Mommy and Me" parties.

I come to your home and bring all the supplies: canvases, easels, acrylic paint, brushes, water buckets, and a table cloth to protect your table. Then we paint together and go step-by-step to finish a  painting that is easy enough for a beginner, but still looks good--you'll be proud to hang it on the wall! :) When you email me to book, I can show you options to pick from for the picture you'd like to paint with your group. With kids, I ask the birthday kid what their favorite thing is (like animals or space or pineapples, etc) then I find a couple options of what they love for them to pick from. Then it's a custom painting that is tailored to THEIR party!!

The parties usually last about an hour and a half.

Pricing: (All supplies are included in the cost)
$20 per person. (Minimum 3 people in a group)

If you are hosting a party and paying for all of your guests, then I give a discount: $40 for 4 or less people, then add on $5 per person after that.

This is suitable for kids ages 8 and up, and a maximum of 8 kids/tweens/teens. For adults, I can teach as many as will fit in your space with a spot at a table! :)

Here are some pics from Art Workshops I've taught. PS. Guys can take this class too!! HELLO, date night! Just get two or three couples! I promise I won't make the guys paint a bunch of flowers...unless they want to. ;)

Here's some from a Canvas Paint Birthday Party!! They LOVED it. :)

My friend, Kim, painted this during one of my workshops! Lookin' good, Kim! ;)

Here's a review of my Watercolor Workshops from the lovely Tamara:

"I have had the pleasure of taking two art classes from Amy. The first was a girls night watercolor class. It was so much fun to gather with friends and learn the basics of watercolor. I was nervous but Amy made me feel comfortable to take a chance. I loved it so much and went home excited to try this new art form. I am not very detailed oriented when I craft and watercolor allows me to create art that is beautiful without lots of details. It inspired me to sign up for her Mommy and Me classes. I knew that my daughter would fall in love as much as I did. My daughter doesn't like to try new things because she doesn't like to fail. Amy was able to get her to try the different techniques and work through her frustrations when things did not turn out the way she had pictured in her mind. I would highly recommend Amy and any of her classes. She will help anyone feel comfortable with the art and feel like they have found a new talent." -Tamara Palmer, Pocatello, ID

Thanks, friend--I am blushing! :)
