Video Classes

I'm currently developing a high quality Art curriculums with video instruction for tweens/teens/and adults. My vision is to make an amazing curriculum for families who want a quality Art program that they can tailor to their children's' needs and interests, as well as a great way for other parents to give their children the Visual Arts education that schools almost always lack the time and funding for.

We pretty much all want our children's educational foundation to be strong and well-rounded, and to include visual art--but, many don't know where to start! Well, I am here to give you the best shortcut--let me save you the time and headache of attempting to build an art curriculum from scratch. :)

I am certified to teach Art K-12, and I've taught Art in two Jr. Highs and one High school. I have also taught Art lessons independently to children, teens and adults at a community center, in my home, and in other people's homes for the past 4 years. While in college, I also got to teach an entry level art class to other college students. I loved every one of these opportunities! Since I myself have been drawing since I was a wee little kid scribbling on the kitchen cupboard with a black sharpie (sorry mom!) I know the intrinsic joy we all have in creating! Teaching Art is such a high for me...I geek out and get so excited when my students have a break-though, learn a new skill, or totally blow me away with what they've accomplished! It is a joy to share the skills and knowledge that help others to make art that they are proud of.

The tricky part came when I started my own family, and three little baby boys (yes, all boys!!) came a little faster than expected...life was so chaotic. I was finding it so hard to find the time to teach my art classes in my home, plan the lessons, and arrange for babysitters during my class times if my husband wasn't home from work yet. Plus, wow, after spending all day with my little kiddios, then having 8 5-year-olds come paint in my kitchen...I was just so exhausted! And as more people approached me about teaching their children art lessons, several homeschooling families in particular, I SO wanted to be able to help them! But, I had to face the fact that I was draining myself and being a stressed mom and wife to my little family. I knew I needed to find a better way.

After a lot of pondering and praying, the thought came: develop an amazing video Art curriculum that families can purchase and use in their own home! Then, I can still be virtually "one-on-one" but the families would pay WAY less than paying for me to come teach private lessons in their home! And, I wouldn't physically need to spend many afternoons and evenings a week away from my little family. What a win-win!!! This is also a way for me to contribute to our family goal to pay off our student loans, which will be SUCH a relief!

So, here I am putting my years of Art and teaching experience into a curriculum that will knock your socks off. ;) I have recorded most of the videos, and now I get to spend HOURS putting it all together! :) Ha! Be patient with me--I am a newbie to video and video editing.

SO.
